Swimathon 2024
Our next annual Swimathon takes place on Saturday 16th March 2024 in the Basingstoke Sports Centre in the town centre. The format is for teams of 3- 6 members to swim a continous relay in the 25m pool for 30 minutes having previously obtained sponsors for their efforts. The money collected can be donated to the Lions or shared on a 50/50 basis with another specified charity. This approach ensures that our event can be used to support the widest range of local charitable causes.
The Lions provide the venue, organisation, including lap counters, and record keeping of who has raised what for whom. There are cups for the team completing the most lengths and those raising the most money. This is an enjoyable, fun event which takes place in a wonderful atmosphere. We'll then sort out details with the captain. Come and join us!
To enable us to support our swimmers, we will shortly be approaching schools, other sports organisations and businesses with a request to enter/ support teams. We hope you will give it active consideration. Thank you.
