Swimathon
Our annual Swimathon takes place in April and will be held in the Basingstoke Sports Centre in the town centre.
The format is for teams of up to 6 to swim a continous relay in the 25m pool for 30 minutes having previously obtained sponsors for their efforts. The money collected can be donated to the Lions or shared on a 50/50 basis with another specified charity. Occasionally there are also individual swimmers.
The Lions provide the venue, organisation including length counters and record keeping of who has raised what, there are cups for the team completing the most lengths and those raising the most money.
An enjoyable and fun event which takes place in a wonderful atmosphere.
