quiz-2191229 640

Saturday 27th November

From this you may deduce that I don’t know how many questions there will be (I’ve got 110 on the stocks at the moment, but I’ll have to reduce that.)

And you may also deduce that the questions will be much easier to answer than it is to say “pedagogic puzzlers” I expect high scoring!

Quiz History

We've been running 2 Quiz Nights a year in March and November since 1992. Thanks to all our supporters, to date they've raised around £26000 for local good causes.

We try to cater for a wide range of knowledge. The team scores generally lie between 45 and 85. We have previously held the quiz in the Cliddesden Millennium Hall, which allows us to accommodate up to 22 teams and provides adequate parking although that is not possible at the moment. It is important to book your entry early. For most players it is just an entertaining, fun night. There is lively competition between the top 2 or 3 teams.

It costs usually cost £20 for a team of 4. But we do accept tables of 3 at £5 per person. We open at 7pm for a 7.30pm quiz start. We generally finish around 10pm. We run a low-cost bar and offer a selection of sandwiches.

The format of the Quiz is 10 rounds each of 10 questions on a variety of subjects. Each team is issued with a Joker, which they can play on any round before the round begins to double their score for that round. Between rounds, while the scores are being put up on the board, we ask a "Spot question". Anyone who thinks they know the answer can write it on a slip of paper, together with their team name, and drop it with 20p into a bucket. The winner is then drawn from the bucket and gets to choose a prize. The overall winners of the quiz receive 4 bottles of wine; the lowest scorers (usually received with greater acclaim than the winners) get a box of Smarties or a wooden spoon or some other appropriate acknowledgement of their performance.

There is only one significant rule, and it is that our answer is correct!

Eyes down for the first round! This is way to Hard! Between Rounds The Quiz Hall
